Tokens

Token decks fill the battlefield with small creatures made by their cards, then attack with all of them or make them all bigger at once. A is a creature (or other object) that a card creates, not a card from your deck.

  • Good first deck?Yes

Make lots of small creatures, then attack with a huge army. Easy to track: more creatures is simply better.

An archetype is a whole game plan: the way a deck tries to win.

How it plays

You play cards that make creature , small creatures that are not cards from your deck, often several at a time. Then you play cards that make every creature you control bigger, or give them all a bonus when they attack.

How it wins

By attacking with more creatures than anyone can block. Twenty 1/1 creatures with a +2/+2 bonus deal sixty damage, which is more than one player's life total.

What beats it

A destroys every at once and leaves you with nothing, because tokens do not go to the to come back. Cards that make each creature cost you something, or deal one damage to every creature, are cheap answers to a wide board.

If this is your first deck

A great first deck. More creatures is simply better, the math is easy, and the cards are cheap to buy.
