Commander Brackets

Brackets are how Commander players agree on how hard their decks try to win before a game starts. Bracket 1 is the most relaxed, Bracket 5 the most competitive. Commander Nexus reads every deck and says which bracket it plays like.

Bracket 1: Exhibition

Your ultra-casual commander deck designed for slower, relaxed environments.

Bracket 2: Core

The average, current, preconstructed deck with no changes.

  • Any number of Extra Turns
  • Up to 3 Tutors

Bracket 3: Upgraded

Beyond the strength of an average precon deck. Highly tuned efficiency with frequent multi-spell turns and strong win conditions.

  • Any number of Extra Turns
  • Up to 3 Game Changers
  • Any number of Late-game 2-card Infinite Combos

Bracket 4: Optimized

High power commander. It's time to go wild!

Decks typically used in competitions. High power with a very competitive and metagame focused mindset.
