An artifact subtype that attaches to a creature you control and grants it bonuses. Paying the Equip cost is what attaches it, and that is a sorcery-speed ability — so an Equipment that just entered sits on the battlefield doing nothing until you pay Equip. It stays behind when the creature dies, and you pay Equip again each time you move it to another creature. Skullclamp
