Baral, Chief of Compliance
The cost reduction applies only to generic mana in the cost of instant and sorcery spells you cast.
A spell or ability counters a spell only if it specifically contains the word "counter" in its text. If a spell or ability you control causes all the targets of a spell to become illegal, that spell doesn't resolve but it's not countered.
To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you're paying (such as a flashback cost), add any cost increases (such as kicker costs), then apply any cost reductions (such as that of Baral's first ability). The mana value of the spell is determined by only its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast that spell was.
Battle of Wits
In tournaments, you must be able to shuffle your entire deck within a reasonable amount of time.
Battle of Wits has an “intervening ‘if’ clause.” This means that if you don’t have 200 or more cards in your library at the beginning of your upkeep, the ability won’t trigger. If the ability does trigger, but you have fewer than 200 cards in your library when the ability resolves, the ability will do nothing.
Brion Stoutarm
If Brion Stoutarm leaves the battlefield after its ability has been activated but before it resolves, the game uses its last known information to determine that it had lifelink and you'll gain life for the damage it deals.
Fynn, the Fangbearer
Losing the game because a player (preferably an opponent) has ten or more poison counters is a rule of the game. Fynn doesn't have to still be on the battlefield when someone (preferably an opponent) gets their tenth poison counter.
Marchesa, the Black Rose
Dethrone doesn't trigger if the creature attacks a planeswalker, even if its controller has the most life. The same is true if the creature attacks a battle, even if its protector has the most life.
In a Two-Headed Giant game, dethrone will trigger if the creature attacks either player on the team with the most life or tied for the most life.
Once dethrone triggers, it doesn't matter what happens to the players' life totals before the ability resolves. You'll put a +1/+1 counter on the creature even if the defending player doesn't have the most life as the ability resolves.
If a creature has multiple instances of dethrone, each triggers separately.
If the creature card leaves the graveyard before the delayed triggered ability resolves, that card won't return to the battlefield, even if it's back in the graveyard when the delayed triggered ability resolves.
If Marchesa has a +1/+1 counter on it when it dies, it will return to the battlefield under your control because of its own ability.
The +1/+1 counter is put on the creature before blockers are declared.
Pack Rat
The token will copy Pack Rat's two abilities. Its power and toughness will be equal to the number of Rats you control (not the number of Rats you controlled when the token entered the battlefield). It will also be able to create copies of itself.
If Pack Rat leaves the battlefield before its activated ability resolves, the token will still enter the battlefield as a copy of Pack Rat, using Pack Rat's copiable values from when it was last on the battlefield.
Pack Rat's first ability counts any creature you control with the creature type Rat, not just Pack Rats. That ability works in all zones, not only the battlefield.
The token won't copy counters on Pack Rat, nor will it copy other effects that have changed Pack Rat's power, toughness, types, color, or so on. Normally, this means the token will simply be a Pack Rat. But if any copy effects have affected that Pack Rat, they're taken into account.
Silence
Silence won't affect spells that your opponents cast before you cast Silence, including any spells that are still on the stack. Silence also won't stop your opponents from casting spells after you cast Silence but before Silence resolves.
A player who can't cast a spell can't suspend a card.
The only thing Silence stops is casting spells. Your opponents can still activate abilities, including abilities of cards in their hands (like cycling). Their triggered abilities work as normal, they can still play lands, and so on.
Sisay, Weatherlight Captain
If a card in a library has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.
If Sisay leaves the battlefield after you've activated its last ability but before that ability resolves, use its last known existence on the battlefield to determine what cards you can find.
